چکیده

Turbocharger is widely used in automotive field for the capability to extract or boost downsizing internal combustion (IC) engine as it has been considered a way provide highly efficient of small engine. also reduces fuel consumption well carbon dioxide (CO2) emission. Turbine one main components turbocharger. Generally, this study mainly focusing on mixed flow turbine that work under steady operation. Numerical using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) presented report. This report aims compare angle analysis three selected cases state operating conditions. A 3D modelling generated accordingly ‘Rotor A’ design by commercial software Ansys CFX. Three were order at mid span circumference location vane and rotor inlet. The simulation results show capabilities model developed capturing trend available experiment data speed 48kRPM. achieves optimum total-to-static efficiency 74.16 % velocity ratio 0.65 with mass rate 0.5kg/s. Besides that, shown distribution inlet varied throughout between cases. Case 2 achieved incidence compared other thus showing impact determining performance.

The Influence of Pulse Shape on the Performance of a Mixed Flow Turbine for Turbocharger Applications

Engine downsizing allows automotive manufactures to achieve improved efficiency and reduce emissions. Turbocharging can increase the power density of the engine, and therefore plays a vital role in downsizing. Due to the nature of the reciprocating engine, a turbocharger turbine operates in a highly unsteady environment. This paper presents a computational investigation looking at the impact of...

Admission Effects on the Flow Behaviour of a Double Entry Turbocharger Turbine

Dual turbocharger turbine is fed by an unequal out-of-phase mass flow charge almost all the time which have significant effects on its performance parameters and flow phenomena which are not well known. Besides fully understanding the flow behavior in the radial turbine suffers from lack of detailed information about the secondary flows. This article studies the secondary flow structure within ...

Pseudo Steady State Gas Flow in Tight Reservoir under Dual Mechanism Flow

Gas reservoirs with low permeability (k<0.1 mD) are among the unconventional reservoirs and are commonly termed as "Tight Gas Reservoirs". In conventional gas reservoirs that have high permeability, the flow of gas is basically controlled by the reservoir permeability and it is calculated using the Darcy equation. In these reservoirs, gas flow due to gas diffusion is ignored compared to Dar...

the effects of changing roughness on the flow structure in the bends

flow in natural river bends is a complex and turbulent phenomenon which affects the scour and sedimentations and causes an irregular bed topography on the bed. for the reason, the flow hydralics and the parameters which affect the flow to be studied and understand. in this study the effect of bed and wall roughness using the software fluent discussed in a sharp 90-degree flume bend with 40.3cm ...

High-speed flow visualization in a pump-turbine under off-design operating conditions

The flow hydrodynamics in a low specific speed radial pump-turbine reduced scale model is experimentally investigated under off-design operating conditions in generating mode. Wall pressure measurements, in the stator, synchronized with high-speed flow visualizations in the vaneless space between the impeller and the guide vanes using air bubbles injection are performed. When starting from the ...
